Belgium's Van Lierde celebrates his second Abu Dhabi win

What a weekend of racing. Frederik Van Lierde and Melissa Hauschildt were in imperious form in Abu Dhabi, while Bevan Docherty offered up an Ironman masterclass on his first effort at the distance. the bike no way i could follow so rode the 200k all by myself, was incredibly windy and just awful! At 160k i started to catch people who…
had cracked on the bike, think i came off 6th then had an average run but had to stop twice for a number 2 so lost about 4mins there…
but overall im happy, off the bike my garmin read 33degrees and i thought how the hell am i going to get through this but i was surprised…
at how well i ran really! So yes, 9th overall, $1500 in the bank, cant really complain as i had 2h sleep last night, just not used to…
changing timezone and i only got here wednesday night, just havn’t adjusted at all and been really struggling with the sleeping thing
