Wattbike, the indoor cycle trainer endorsed by British Cycling, has released an update to its Pro and Trainer models which includes a new and improved Performance Computer and redesigned handlebars.

Since its launch in 2008, Wattbike has continually evolved in response to customer feedback whilst retaining the scientifically accurate monitoring of performance data that underpins its status as the ultimate training tool for triathletes of all abilities.

The latest Performance Computer features a new user interface, increased responsiveness and additional customisation options, enabling riders to further enhance the quality of their indoor training on a Wattbike.

Riders benefit from analysis of every pedal revolution in real-time on board the latest model, allowing the fine-tuning of pedal technique with the resulting improvements in power and speed transferred to the road. The live display of key performance parameters including heart rate, power and cadence is also improved, enabling the rider to focus in on the data relevant to a specific training session.

A range of testing protocols is built in to the new Performance Computer to compliment the free Training Guide available at Tests range from short Peak Power efforts through to a British Cycling approved ramp test, which enable riders to set the all-important benchmarks for training using heart-rate, power and cadence.

The redesigned handlebar on the new Wattbike features an improved drop section and enhanced tri-bar extension. Utilising the knowledge and expertise of elite riders from the road and track disciplines, the improved bars give riders the ultimate flexibility when replicating road bike position on the Wattbike. Optional TT pads are also available.

Alex Skelton, Communications Manager, Wattbike said: “The new Wattbike brings significant enhancements to a product that enables triathletes of all abilities to improve on their performance. Every rider can now train using the same scientifically accurate methods as Olympic and World Champions with a Wattbike, right in their own home.”

“Training using a combination of power and heart rate is simply the most effective and efficient way to train and with a Wattbike you can be confident that you are maximising your performance gains with every turn of the pedal.”

The Wattbike Pro 2013 and Wattbike Trainer 2013 are available today from at £2,250. 0% Finance is available to UK customers (subject to acceptance).
