Henley Swim, which will this year be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the now iconic Henley Classic sunrise swim, on Sunday 30th June, is delighted to announce that it will be working with Macmillan Cancer Support as its 2013 Official Charity Partner.

“Macmillan Cancer Support is delighted to be working in partnership with Henley Swim Events and hope that many swimmers will take on an open water challenge to raise vital sponsorship for those affected by cancer. More than one in three people will be diagnosed with cancer and Macmillan is there to offer invaluable medical, practical, financial and emotional support. Please join us this year and help us to reach even more people,” stated Gemma Hardy, Macmillan Challenge Events Manager.

In addition to its flagship event the Henley Classic, Henley Swim will also be hosting its family event, the Henley Mile on Sunday 14th July, the Bridge to Bridge 14k marathon swim on Sunday 11th August, and the Queenford Lake Events on Sunday 15th September. This series will provide an exciting range of events for open water swimming enthusiasts to raise vital funds for this charity, and the events organisers are looking forward to working with Macmillan over the coming months.

Event co-founders Jeremy Laming and Tom Kean said of the announcement “We are both delighted to be working in partnership with such an important charity. We have an amazing opportunity in running these events to raise money for good causes, and with Macmillan’s involvement we will strive to raise as much as we can. Everyone is touched by cancer in some way shape or form, so we hope our unique events will appeal to the fundraisers out there who look for unique challenges to make their fundraising efforts more effective and visible.”
