Harry, “Not making the Olympic team was a huge disappointment for me; however I am tremendously excited to be embarking on a long distance career. When I was approached by YCE, I was instantly drawn to the idea of age group athletes having the potential to receive similar support that elite athletes receive while racing. Recently I went back to university therefore I have a renewed understanding of the difficulties age group athletes face in combining training with everyday life. I am very excited about this new challenge; this community is somehow unique and offers great opportunities to all age groupers. I feel very privileged to have met Wolfgang. His drive and enthusiasm guarantee that your-competitive-edge is going to be a huge success.”

YCE is based on a simple and unique idea: to support the serious endurance athlete, concentrating on the WTC  series. Age groupers can join a community and be a part of a team, without any sponsor obligations or any fixed club hierarchy. Bottom line – after each race – what counts for these athletes, is their own performance. But within the community they have the chance, beside many benefits, and the constant exchange of information, to make it into an elite team, representing the community throughout the season.
Founded in 2012, YCE Sports Management aims, as early as this season, to at least have a team of 6 athletes at the start line representing the community. Eligible for qualification are all members of the age groups 18 to 50, women as well as men, thus meaning there will be limited slots per age group. YCE’s support will include: starter packages, support on travel, the full team kit and equipment. The team bike’s ownership will stay with YCE GmbH and will be provided to the Elite team members for the season.

Membership, registration will mean a lot of benefits, even with the project just kicking off: the Welcome-Present will be our personalized team helmet, Rudy Project Wingspan, and in addition any new member in January 2013 will receive a Huub backpack, designed by YCE’s partner for wetsuits and tri-suits Huub design (Research/Science/Reality). In the YCE-Online-Shop members will shop for triathlon gear and team apparel at discounted prices. The YCE-Platform will allow members to communicate with each other, talk to professionals in all aspects of triathlon, as well as receive and exchange latest news on sport and equipment. All the communication will be transparent and open to all YCE members. On request, YCE additionally will assist its members on training plan advice. The idea is to help each other to grow to the best we can be.

And the most important: all members will have the chance to make the YCE Elite team via our ranking table. For that purpose we will keep record of all 2012, and scheduled 2013 races. Members will register their races in the “My Races” section within the member area. Membership for the full year 2013 will be € 330,–.
