This is one for the diary! The Vachery Estate in Surrey will host the inaugural XTERRA England Championship on 7-8 September 2013. Check out all of the information below (and then enter what will be a great race!):
The Vachery Estate in the beautiful Surrey Hills is home to the inaugural XTERRA England Championship. It is the climax of a weekend’s XTERRA Festival activities and it could be a real showdown for the top athletes because it is the final round of the XTERRA European Tour and the last stop of the XTERRA World Tour outside the US for age-group qualification for the XTERRA World Championships in Maui, Hawaii on 27 Oct 2013.
The weekend’s main event features a 1.5k swim, 30km mountain bike and 10k trail run and it is open to everyone, it doesn’t matter whether they are entering their first cross-triathlon or they are an age group athlete chasing one of the 40 qualifying spots for the XTERRA Maui World Championships, European Tour Series ranking points or a pro racing for a share of the $15,000 prize purse.
There are sprint, distance and team relay races too. Plus a 6 hour MTB endurance race, 1.5k and 3k swim races, free kids races, great camping (kids camp for free) and as you would hope the festival atmosphere that made this year’s races so special for many, lives on.
This event is a great opportunity to take the family and friends to a race, there is loads of room for kids of all ages to run around, ride their bikes, fly kites, play ball games and pretty much everything else kids get up to!
The Vachery Estate is located in the shadow of the Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty yet only minutes from London, and Gatwick and Heathrow airports and well served by motorways M25, M23, M3 and the A3.
