The 10th Anniversary Henley Classic Entries Go Live on 1st December

Organisers of the famous mid-summer dawn swim, The Henley Classic, are delighted to announce that they will be opening entries to this sell-out event on Saturday 1st December. The event has been confirmed for Sunday 30th June 2013, in its usual spot before the Henley Royal Regatta.
Next year promises to be another big year for the swim, with a good turn-out expected for their Elite Race, which this year attracted some top elite athletes from across the UK, before the event had to be cancelled due to the river conditions. This factor is likely to make it harder than normal for swimmers to get an entry in to next year’s Henley Classic, as many of this year’s entrants took the opportunity to defer this year’s entry in order to guarantee their place. Anyone wanting to enter the 10th Anniversary of this swim would be wise to make their entry as soon as possible after entries open.
Event co-founder Tom Kean said, “We are delighted to be hosting this event for its tenth consecutive year, and expect a record number of swimmers in addition to our Elite Race. Jeremy and myself are immensely proud to have built this event into something that feels like it has a proper heritage, with people actually mentioning it in the same breath as The Regatta itself. Henley Swim has worked really hard to keep the spirit of the event true to the original adventure of 10 years ago, and hope people recognise what a truly eccentric unique swim this is, which we hope is echoed in all our events next summer.”
In addition to this famous event, Henley Swim will also be hosting The Henley Mile on Sunday 14th July, the increasingly popular Bridge to Bridge, a 14km marathon swim on Sunday 11th August, and their season finale, The Queenford Lake Events on Sunday 8th September.
