Gear Review: Profile Design Svet

Profile Design’s Svet Zero is a neat carbon base bar that offers a flexible approach to setting up your cockpit. The aero wing-shaped bars are designed to cut through the wind and with its 3:1 size means it’s all UCI legal.

Profile’s Svet is made up of multi-direction, multi-layer carbon fibre that’s torsionally stiff even when sprinting out of the saddle, yet offers a good degree of comfort taking out much of the road vibration. The ergonomically shaped brake extensions allow the hands to sit comfortably and naturally when up on the bars. We also had no issues sitting on the wing-shaped flats when climbing.

As the name suggests there is zero drop from the centre of the 31.8mm stem clamping surface and the outer extensions and the Svet’s are pre-slotted for internal cable routing and are Di2 compatible. The 200g Svet Zero base bar opens a wide range of options when it comes to fitting extensions and will build into a quality, yet good value, set of time trial bars.
