London 2012 Olympics Men’s Race: Pro Twitter Reactions

The dust is starting to settle and the triathlon world is slowly beginning to reflect on everything that happened in the last 24 hours. But what do the athletes who were racing make of it? We scoured the Twitter-verse to get their opinions of the men who raced on an incredible for triathlon.

Alistair Brownlee: A truly inspiring day. Thanks to everyone who cheered wherever you were.

Javier Gomez: Thanks everyone for your support. Feels great to finally have an olympic medal… I really enjoyed the race

Jonathan Brownlee: Wow! What a triathlon today. Great support and great race. I am so happy with my olympic bronze medal!!

Brad Kahlefeldt: No excuses.Wasn’t in lead pack out of the water and time trialling a minute down for 40k. Tough but that’s racing.

Simon Whitfield: Not how I envisioned this chapter ending. It’s been a remarkable Olympic journey, more then I could have ever imagined.

Bevan Docherty: Thanks 4 all the support out there today, not the Olympic Gold I was after but proud of my Olympic record, Silver, Bronze & 12th!

Hunter Kemper: As an 8yr boy growing up in FL, I always dreamed of winning a Medal at the @Olympics. With tears in my eyes, that dream is no longer.

Kris Gemmell: I want 2 say the biggest of thanx 2 every1 that was a part of that! I’m honoured 2 represent NZ & know I gave it all.

Chrissie Wellington: Simply superb! What an amazing amazing day for the brownlees and British triathlon. Absolutely golden!

Craig Alexander: Awesome race in the men’s Olympic Triathlon. The three best triathletes took the medals. Congrats to Ali and Jonny Brownlee & Javier Gomez.

Chris McCormack: 29:07 Guess that will do it! Out with the old in with the new. Triathlons 1st male World & Olympic champion. @emmasnowsill the only other

Fraser Cartmell: Sitting in Hyde Park listening to Queen We are the Champions from the main stage whilst the cheers for medal ceremony drift along #awesome
