Pros And Amateurs Take On The GranFondo Valberg

Excellent weather conditions, challenging bike course, perfect pavement and stunning views over the Maritimes Alps will be on the menu of the pro and amateur Event GranFondo Cannondale in Valberg. This small and charming mountain village lies on the legendary road “Route des Grandes Alpes” relating Thonon-les-bains in Switzerland to Menton in France. On 15th of July close to 150 participants will be on the start line for the two course formats: The long bike leg consists of 130km with 2.700m elevation, followed by the shorter one composed of 96km and 1.700m elevation.
The event will start on the 14thh of July at 10:00 with an Expo Village, sport animations and entertainment activities during the day and will finish with the Awards Ceremony on the race day set on the 15thth of July. Some of the highlights of the race include the presence of Maxime Viarengo, with only 18 years will be the youngest participant in the event and Charles Moscatelli with 72 years the most experienced among the cyclist. Them and the rest of the participants will join shoulder to shoulder the charismatic Formula 1 drivers Jenson Button, Alex Wurz and the Austrian Triathlon Professional Thomas Vonach.
In addition Mr. Georg Hochegger, Chairman of Star Events also accepted the challenge and will inaugurate his brand new Cannondale SuperSix Evo 1 during the GranFondo Valberg event. Influenced by Germany’s Tour Magazine – the world leader in detailed and quantitative bicycle analysis who declared its sibling Cannondale SuperSix Evo Ultimate as “the best bike in the world”.
