Entries are still open for this Saturdays Marlow Classic River Swim

This Saturday -July 14th – will see the 3rd Annual Marlow River Swim take place on the banks of the river Thames, where David Walliams witnessed some of the largest supporting crowds in his river Thames swim in 2011. With a 750m, 1.5km and 3.0km distance to choose from, it really provides an opportunity for anyone to try these distances and swim safely along one of the most beautiful stretches of the the Berkshire / Buckinghamshire countryside.

With the past few weekends events having to be postponed, we are still looking to be able to hold the swim this weekend. The river in Marlow has already considerably slowed and with current predictions is set to be safe to swim by the weekend.

Entries online are still open until Thursday evening if you want to take part the event – we have also been informed that people can register on the day.

There are also two future events this summer which take place during and after the Olympics.

The third event in the series takes place on Saturday August 18th at Henley on Thames, Shiplake College. With a 6pm start time, this event had the best feedback from all of our events in 2011, as the weather was just perfect with an amazing backdrop for all participants and spectators to see.

The final event for 2012 will be the Open Water Swim Challenge at Bray Lake Watersports. It will host the final official 10km open water swim of the season with distances changing slightly with a 1km, 2km, 4km, 5km and 10km to choose from.

Teams can also enter the Relay events, where upto teams of 5 can swim the longer distances at Bray Lake which has great spectator points to cheer on all the participants. 2011 saw over 250 participants take part, in what is now a great end
