Asics have kept their bright, almost lairy, colour scheme on their latest incarnation of the Noosa Tri shoe. This tri-specific shoe is designed to be light but without compromising features that many still want from a race shoe. At 290g it’s not uber light but when you look at the features it offers a lot for its weight.

The Noosa Tri 7 features a completely new upper with fewer seams and uses a softer fabric. The new airy upper allows plenty of airflow and features a tongue that’s fixed to stop it riding around. This combined with the non-slip lining on the inside makes them comfy with or without socks.

Asics have also added neat glow in the dark logos on the toes and heel to keep you seen at night. Unlike some lightweight racers these have a substantial sole while offering support with its firmer rubber Duomax section that helps with pronation. There are also has gel pads in the heel and forefoot for extra cushioning. To prevent twisting and help with support Asics have added their Propulsion Trusstic in the centre of the sole.

All of this produces a smooth, responsive ride and excellent guidance for over-pronators with enough support and cushioning for most to use this for training and racing over both short and long distances.
