What a weekend of racing! Of course, all eyes were on San Diego for the ITU World Triathlon Series (check out the report about Helen Jenkins’ race win here and Jonny Brownlee’s dominant performance here) and the various Olympic ramifications that played out at the home of modern triathlon. Elsewhere, Emma-Kate Lidbury and Michael Raelert won Ironman 70.3 Mallorca (read about that here). So what did the pros make of their day at the races? We scoured the Twitter and Facebook world for some of the best comment and reaction:

Helen Jenkins: So happy to win San Diego World Tri series today, I can’t stop smiling! Well done to all the girls today, and good luck Brit guys tomorrow!

Chris McCormack: You run sub 31:25 off the bike and u lose 1:40 to the winner. Damn these boys can move. Getting better and loving it! See Macca’s perspective on ITU racing here
Laura Bennett: I couldn’t be happier! Thanks so much for all the tweets/texts/raceday support! I really do feel special!
Will Clarke: Finished 20th today, I struggled all day but that’s racing and it happens that’s for sure!
Sarah Haskins: thank you everyone for the support and inspiring messages. Attacked and fought out there today. Congrats to @heljinx for the impressive W
Brad Kahlefeldt: Flat out the whole way during that run for 26th place. Something’s not right.. Well done to the boys up front. I didn’t see you.
Brad Kahlefeldt (cont…): Currently still in a hospital bed here in SD for results whether it is Pneumonia or Tuberculous. My flight to Europe just left an hour ago. Read the full story on that here.
Vicky Holland: Well…what2say about that?! soooo happy to bust out a good result, but also gutted to be so close 2the podium! Thanks SO much for the love!
Hunter Kemper: Thx to all of u for your support & prayers! I’ll never forget this day at #ITUSanDiego. Today I soared “on wings like eagles!” #4for4
Richard Murray: Someone PINCH me … 3rd today in San Diego, on near flat legs, and now im the series leader … thanks for an amazing event @ITUonline
Kris Gemmell: When u follow a plan, u have 2 be willing to give a little every now and then! Great swim, rode hard when I needed too, ran like I expected
Manuel Huerta: Never never never never give up. Wiston Churchill[sic]
Brent McMahon: 6th at ITU San Diego World Triathlon Series.. tough race, fast run!! LONDON training begins! Boomchickawawa. Kiwi domination by BD, KG. BOOM
Matt Chrabot: Thanks everyone for your support today. Being ranked #1 American the past 2 years has been the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. Unfortunately it’s been a big burden and draws a lot of extra attention heading into an Olympic year. I did the best I could to manage that pressure as well as race my hardest today.
Ironman 70.3 Mallorca – Race report here
Emma-Kate Lidbury: Stoked to successfully defend my 70.3 Mallorca title today – but not so happy with the 3 stitches in my knee! Thanks for all the congrats
Jonathan Hotchkiss: 14th (1st Brit) today but honestly, i raced OK. Never gona b content with 14th, but i am happy i raced hard and ALL the way. Raelert = CLASS
Dr. Tamsin Lewis: ‘Fun’ day at #IM703Mallorca today. A lonely one for me on the swim/bike. Beach start swim so no running for me #injury meant I missed the pack & swam solo. Stayed that way on the bike – rear brake was playing up on my new wheel so stopped to fiddle with that.. – saw no one until 60k! Then found some super bike legs & rode into T2 just behind 2nd placed Tine Deckers. The temptation to run was unbelievable! Had to be content in supporting. Super Hot! Well done to all who competed – tough day >)
Mark Threlfall: Pretty gutted today. Running in 2nd to Raelert and felt great. Had to stop 5 times with stomach cramp before pulling out. Arse!!
