Henley Swim is delighted to announce that it will be adding an Elite Race to this year’s Henley Classic, on Sunday 24th June. This category will feature both a men’s and women’s race, which will start shortly before the normal race categories. Prize money of £500 will be awarded to the winner of both races.
Tom Kean, co-founder of Henley Swim, stated “We wanted to add an elite wave to The Classic to give it a truly international feel in Great Britain’s Olympic year. We now have swimmers taking part from all over the world and feel the time is right to take things to another level. We hope the prize money will attract some exceptional swimmers to this iconic mid-summer dawn swim. The combination of the early start and historic venue epitomises everything that is great about British sport.”
The eligibility criteria for these races are available to download from the Henley Classic Event Information page of the Henley Swim website.
Applicants need to apply by email to georgina@henleyswim.com.
