Maybe, just maybe the long nights and foul weather is coming to an end. We’ll only whisper it at the moment because we don’t want to tempt fate, but Spring isn’t too far away. And that means one thing: racing season is coming. Racing season, and the March edition of Triathlete Europe (it’s in the shops Friday or you can subscribe and get it delivered by clicking here).

And this month’s edition of the mag has everything you need to get your training and racing cap well and truly on.

One man who did that is Lance Armstrong. Were we surprised that he very nearly won his first Ironman 70.3 event in Panama a few weeks ago? Yes. Was his form impressive? Yes. Do we look back at his return to road triathlon in the next issue of the mag? Absolutely.

But it’s not all about Lance. It’s about getting you ready for next season too. And we kick that off with Dave Scott looking at whether it is about the body or the mind?

Dave is followed by Matt Dixon, who offers some expert advice on how to pull together a training plan that suits you. Meanwhile, Lance Watson looks at what it takes to find an online coach that suits your goals.

Then, of course, there is the usual expert advice and fantastic training tips: fingertip techniques to maximise your swim efficiency, fartlek sessions to maximise your race-day speed, and race weight management techniques.

Add to that interviews with Javier Gomez, Joe Gambles and T.J. Tollakson, the usual columns from Rasmus Henning, Rachel Joyce and Dirk Bockel, plus a whole load more and there really is no excuse not to head down to your local newsagent and pick up a copy!
