Advent calendars at the ready, little tree being eyed up, it can only mean one thing: the December issue of Triathlete Europe is on its way (you can subscribe here). And what an issue to behold. It’s like all of your Christmases rolled into one, a veritable cracker if we’re being honest. And it all starts with:
Tom Lowe. Amazing triathlete, amazing man. We caught up with the one of the fastest Ironman athletes in the world to talk Kona, training, and moving up through the ranks.
We profile another man this month who knows something about going quick: Lance Arsmtrong. Before the American became a legend of le Tour he was a triathlete (a quick one, too). We look at his return to the sport and reflect on the Xterra World Championships.
As well as Xmas, December also brings with it cold days, long nights and the occasional blizzard. So it’s a good time to work the body and mind to ensure that they are prepped and ready for 2012. We tell you how to do that.
Then there is a ton of the usual stuff. We look at things you can do when the pool is packed, how to build your bike strength in the off-season, and how to make your run stride more efficient.
Couple all of that with the usual pro perspectives, nutrition advice and a ton of other training articles and you have everything that a triathlete needs to keep them going through the festive period.
Oh, and we nearly forgot the Christmas Gift Guide!
You know the drill by now: if you want to save the hassle of braving Arctic conditions then you can subscribe to the magazine here (it’s great value and you get some cool freebies). If, however, the Arctic is your kind of thing then now’s the time to pop to the shops!
