Gear Check: Selle Italia SLR Tri Gel Saddle

Selle Italia’s SLR Tri Gel saddle uses a carbon composite shell body with a varying thickness gel pad. This is then covered with a high abrasion Lorica fabric for longevity when pedalling and throwing around in transition.
The result of the gel pads, especially in the nose, is an extremely comfortable saddle that moulds to the shape of your backside for a comfy ride when riding the snout in the TT position. Fortunately these pads aren’t overly thick or squishy as the gel name might suggest. Below the 131mm wide and 275mm long SLR are hollow Vanox rails which help to keep the overall weight down to 225g.
The combination of low weight and comfort make for a winning ride, but it doesn’t come cheap.
