The Challenge Family today announced the launch of an online portal to its global series of long distance triathlons. The new Challenge Family web site not only provides access to all the races around the world but also introduces the new Challenge Family League.
Featuring every result of every athlete who has ever raced at a Challenge event around the world, the League provides a ranking system that allows friends and rivals to check out their competition. With points allocated per race completed, the league also features each athlete’s time splits.
“The Challenge Family League puts every athlete on an even footing, whether a pro or an age grouper. The more races you complete, the higher up the table you go,” said Challenge Family CEO, Felix Walchshöfer. “It’s a fun way for athletes to see how they’re ranked amongst their friends and to keep an eye on their rivals! Plus it’s good way to reward those who race regularly with the Challenge Family.”
Currently ranked top of the table is Luke Dragstra from Canada with 83 points who has raced in 16 Challenge events since 2007, including winning the inaugural Challenge Wanaka in 2007.
Challenge TV is another new initiative on the web site, providing race footage as well as interviews from top pro athletes.
The Challenge Family currently feature 13 races across three continents, including the world’s largest iron distance triathlon, Challenge Roth in Germany. Other races are Challenge Wanaka (New Zealand), Challenge Fuerteventura and Challenge Barcelona (Spain), Challenge Kraichgau (Germany), Challenge Cairns (Australia), Challenge Copenhagen and Challenge Aarhus (Denmark), Challenge Vichy (France), Challenge Walchsee (Austria), Challenge Henley-on-Thames (UK) and Challenge Cape Town (South Africa).
