Stadler Aims To Ride New Bike To Ironman World Record At Roth

Quelle Roth will be the first time Stadler has ridden the Scott Plasma 3 over Ironman distance
Normann Stadler at Challenge Roth with a brand-new racer: the Scott Plasma 3. “It will be a fight between the young and the experienced triathlon generation,” said Stadler, as he prepared for the race.
It’s the strongest field at Challenge Roth ever: The double Hawaii Champion and Commerzbank athlete Normann Stadler will take on reigning champion Michael Göhner as well as Eneko Llanos from Spain, the winner of Ironman Lanzarote and Abu Dhabi Triathlon 2010. Furthermore there are Rutger Beke and Rasmus Henning, two experienced triathletes with Top 10 Hawaii positions under their belt. Then there is German Sebastian Kienle. The 26-year-old looks back on several duels between him and Stadler over shorter triathlon distances.
The 37-year-old athlete from Mannheim says: “It will be a fight between the young and the experienced triathlon generation. I’m looking forward to that and I’ve done my homework.”
Maybe Stadler can attack a new bike record again with his brand-new bike, the Scott Plasma3. Last year he went extremely fast on the bike course in 4:14:42 hours – only 26 seconds slower than the World Record. On Sunday it will be the very first time that Stadler rides the most aerodynamic triathlon bike in the world over the Ironman distance.
“The Scott Plasma3 is a phenomenal racer. All tests were excellent. But finally it’s still me where the power comes from”, laughs Normann Stadler.
